One Year Reflections
LinkedIn notified me that it's been one year since I started Spark Content. I wouldn't have realized this milestone without their update, as it's hard to believe so much time has passed! The journey has been unexpectedly smooth and incredibly gratifying. I am thankful every day.
Here are some reflections as I celebrate this anniversary:
The power of networking is real. I’m not talking about superficial connections, but about surrounding yourself with friends and peers who genuinely support you, and whom you genuinely support. Every client I've had has come through a recommendation, passing their trust in me along, and that is SO humbling.
A proper work-life balance changes everything. In the nonprofit sector, it's easy to work longer and harder because of your dedication to the community. The work is never-ending, as our organizations are often understaffed and under-resourced. While I don’t regret my past work ethic, I’m now learning to set boundaries and listen to my own needs. My mental and physical health have improved because of it.
There are so many amazing nonprofits out there! I used to focus all my energy and expertise on a single mission. Now, I have the opportunity to contribute to various organizations, writing about diverse topics such as food insecurity, education, ballet, and workforce training. I love learning new things!
My greatest takeaway is gratitude. You are reading this because you’re part of my journey, and I don’t take you for granted. THANK YOU for making this dream possible!
