The Heart of It…

For a while now, I’ve debated whether to share this update. But in the spirit of authenticity and vulnerability, I’ve decided to go for it.

I’m publicly committing to give 10% of my 2024 earnings back to the Rochester community I love.

Admittedly, this decision brings up some self-doubt. Will people think I’m arrogant for sharing? Does announcing this undermine generosity? What if I fall short of earning enough to meet this goal?

Ultimately, I can’t control how others interpret this, so I’m choosing to follow my values. Through financial contributions and pro bono work, I’ll invest 10% of Spark Content’s work into impactful Rochester organizations. This commitment is driven by my faith, my love for my neighbors, and my pride in this incredible city.

2024 has been a challenging year, filled with heartache, war, and uncertainty. At times, I’ve felt powerless. But taking compassionate action—even in small ways—helps me reclaim a sense of agency. I wonder if it might help you, too.

While I can’t change the world on a global scale, I can use my business and expertise to support the people and organizations around me. And so can you. You can make a difference—don’t believe the lie that your contributions are too small to matter.

As a nonprofit professional, I don’t want to just talk about loving my city; I want to show it through my actions and resources. This season of giving, I challenge you to find your own way to give back—whether through time, finances, or kindness.

Together, we can create meaningful change, one act of generosity at a time.
